Working Principle

Blind Nut - Inserts also known as Blind Rivet-Nut, Nut-Inserts, Crimp Nuts are designed to provide strong threads/threaded joints in sheet-metal component, pipes, plates, sections, tubes, etc. They are called "Blind" as they can be installed from one side of the assembly even if there is no access from the backside, without damaging the parent surface of previously finished [plated/coated] components, sub-assemblies.

There are two basic types:
  • Standard [round type] and
  • Heavy duty [hex-type]-for high torsional resistance.

These Blind Nut-Inserts can be easily installed on a job in cold condition by means of manual / pneumatic / battery operated tools.
When installed, the Blind Nut-Insert body is designed to undergo controlled deformation, wherein the non-threaded portion crimps, creating a firm 360° rib which grips the underside of the mounting surface, pulling together the single or two sheet-metals, which may be of different materials.
